GO Israel!

Okay, I'm sure you wonder where I've been. "Maybe," you've thought, "he's died." Or "he's gone under cover with the CIA." Nothing quite that permanent or that adventurous. The truth is, I lost my login information. So now I've found it...and just in time to sound off about this whole Mideast war going on.

Israel has done us all a service by (FINALLY) striking back hard at the Islamo-fascist terrorists. I insert FINALLY because I think it's current political leadership has traveled the appeasement highway far too long. (But, then, who am I to judge. I live in the United States, a nation under seize by the Demo-fascists like Senators Boxer, Feinstein, Durbin, Kennedy, that little woman from New York, and what's-his-smirky-face from Nevada--and the political party I belong to won't them face down either. Republicans just want "to get along." I repeat: appeasement doesn't work!)

Anyway, back to where I was. Israel has taken on the Evil that openly threatens every other civilization on the earth. It deserves the political support and military assistance of ALL other freedom-loving people. (The French are specifically excluded. They enjoy freedom but they don't love it. We don't need them.) Israel is the proxy for the rest of us in this crucial struggle...and it shouldn't have to bear all the costs.

Israel understands what the rest of the world doesn't want to face. It is "us" (freedom-loving people) or "them" (the Islamo-fascists). No compromise with this Evil is feasible. It is a battle to the death, ours or theirs.

The people of Israel are paying a high price for taking on the Evil. If they should fail, the battle will soon cross the border to every other country. The terrorists will stop at nothing until they are themselves stopped. I say "GO Israel!" We're in this with you. We have no choice.

Alito is a winner

Bush's nomination of Alito is an in-your-face move, one that draws the line in the sand. Brilliant, humble, articulate, qualified...Alito will show the liberal Dems on the Judiciary Committee that they are, once again, no match for a genuine intellectual.

He will be assaulted by the libs on the committee as they try to appease their radical base, but in the end, he will be affirmed. A filibuster? Let them try it. Bring on the "nuclear option" and blast them into their constitutional place.

Give the man a break!

The President has a right to nominate the person he choses to the Supreme Court. The Senate is empowered to consider and approve his choice. That's how it works.

Will the conservatives who don't like his choice of Harriet Miers please shut up?!? Hasn't this President proved that he nominates judges who represent his conservative viewpoint of the Constitution?

Harriet Miers may not be the brightest star in the conservative universe. She may be unknown to the elite Right Wing. But she is not unknown to the President. He trusts her. He's confident she will not mutate into a mushy-headed Liberal after she's appointed. Get off his back and stop helping the smirking Demos who are enjoying this slugfest among conservatives.

Had the President named one of the better known and attested conservative possibilities, do you honestly think he would have had the support in the Senate to get his or her name through?? Yes, Republicans have the majority in the Senate (thank God) but as a whole, they cannot be trusted to back their President on a conservative pick this time around. That's shameful but it's a fact. The President made a briliant choice in naming Miers because she presents a small target for the liberals. But thanks to the whining, bickering conservatives, the Demos have an increasing chance to stop her.

The President has an excellent track record for judicial nominations. For crying out loud, give the man a break!
